    Love your Bee Gee reactions of the brothers (Barry, Robin, & Maurice) I’m not sure if you’ve reacted to any of these, but here’s a list with my interpretation of what genre I think they fall under: Just disregard the ones you’ve already reacted to! Too Much Heaven (R&B) How Deep Is Your Love (R&B Ballard) Staying Alive (disco) Night Fever (disco) You Should Be Dancing (R&B or disco) Fanny be tender with my love (R&B) Jive Talking (R&B) Nights on Broadway (R&B/Funk) Tragedy (Techno? Pop) More than a woman (Disco/R&B) Love you inside out (Funk/pop) To love somebody (R&B) Massachusetts (pop/country) Wind of Change (funk/r&b), live 1975 from the Midnight Special) Alone (pop) Love So Right (R&B) Words (pop, 1979 Spirits Tour) Lonely Days (pop) You Win Again (pop) Run to Me (pop) How Can you mend a broken heart (R&B) Kiss of Life (rock) One (pop) Wedding Day (pop) Rest Your Love on Me Awhile (country) Bodyguard (R&B) Blue Island - live (pop) Our Love, Don't Throw it all away-Bee Gee's or Andy's version (pop) Secret Love (pop) This is Where I Came in (live) (pop) The 1989 One for all tour medley (excellent vocals & some humor) If you want to see them (the Bee Gees) and how they work in the studio try: (A) the making of their song "Tragedy" from 1979 (B) The making of the song "Just in Case" (C) The making of the video "This is Where I Came in" from their last cd in 2001 Some that only the avid Bee Gee fans might know that you might want to react to: My Lover’s Prayer (pop ballard) Letting Go (pop ballard) Subway (R&B) You Stepped Into My life (Funk/r&b) Children of the World (pop) Search, Find (pop or R&B) Songs written by Barry Gibb (that other artists sung) -- alone or with his brothers (Robin & Maurice Gibb): If I Can't Have You (Yvonne Elliman) Woman in Love ( Barbra Streisand). I'm sick and tired of here Slavs are Slaves. HELL NO. Slavic language existed in 2000+BC, and English has existed for only >300 years. Slavic means Gods, Light, Worshipped, Teachers, Word...Alexander the Great was Macedonian aka Slavic, Roman aka Etruscans are Ruskan aka Russ aka Russian aka Slav...If Slav's history is hidden on purpose, meaning they Are Gods and parasites are jealous of. Ottoman aka Ataman is a Cossack leader (damn google up) they are Muslim Slavic people (same as we have in Yugoslavia that split based on religious views) whose power stretched to North Africa, the Middle East, and part of Europe.. dispute with Romans ..claiming Slavs name came from non existent language is ignorant

    White people ended slavery! At some point white people fought against the whole world to outlaw slavery internationally, because nobody wanted to give up their slaves. Thanks to white people slavery is now against International Law. Despite this slavery is still rampant in Arab nations and African countries. There were stretches of time in history where white people were shipped as slaves to Arab nations. Also, look into whom the actual "white" slave traders were. Who owned the ships and paid the captains? The were not "white", but they pass for white whenever it suits them.

    Also, Africans selling other Africans was in place between African nations before Europeans entered into the existing system. The introduction of corn and potatoes from the New World made it a bit worse, because they were relatively low labor crops. The development of maize by the Aztecs was actually why they developed a religion obsessed with human sacrifice - they didn't need to enslave conquered enemies to work the fields, so they sacrificed them for the favor of the gods. 100% be respectful, be good to each other (and party on?). As a straight white male it's extremely refreshing to see that there are still human beings who are trying to learn history, allowing the truth to dictate their worldview. There are so many lies that have persuaded the hearts and minds of people to think that straight white men are evil, and for absolutely no reason, I get looked down upon and treated inconsiderately just for being a straight white man. I'm a good person and there is a superior principle to racism, it's called Justice and merit. I contribute to my family and my friends, I work hard, and I'm a good person, and I'd like to be treated accordingly. So thank you for educating people.

They were paid with bread and beer (money didn't exist properly at the time). I also have to say that Europe was colonized before European nations caused the havoc they had (actually it would be more correct to say the European nation’s ruling class, as there was no democracy, only about 10% or less of the European nations were actually involved in colonial decision making, while the majority were peasants working on farms or they were sent to work in filthy overcrowded factories during the Industrial Revolution). I am referring to the Umayyad, Almohad, and Aghlabids who began colonizing Europe in 700s at the same time North Africa was being colonized, and this lasted until the mid1300s when the Reconquista happened… It was Portugal who began buying slaves from Africa first, they and the Spanish are who were who were conquered by the Muslim Arabs and North Africans (and some of the Muslim Arabs and North Africans had actually followed the Portuguese and Spanish to the Caribbean and South America). Then, from the 1500s to mid 1800s, Europeans (primarily the English out at sea) were being kidnapped and enslaved in North Africa. So they were enslaved in Africa before they ever got involved and those enslaving them were the Muslim Arabs who conquered the North Africans. Europeans became terrified to live near the sea. Huge coastal swaths of land in Europe became uninhabitable out of fear of being kidnapped in the night. Please know that I am not saying this to spread hate or cause division, and I am not trying to shift the blame. I just want people to come out of tunnel vision. I really appreciate your open mind to this hard to discuss traumatic time in history. I agree entirely with your comments that we must all respect one another. So much greatness can come out of that❤️ If you are interested, I’d encourage you to look up the band called the Afro-Celt Soundsystem. They mix Celtic music with West African (in case you are unaware, I am referring to the Indigenous Celtic peoples/culture of Ireland aka Éire and Britain aka Pritanī). There’s also another band called Mugar who mixes Celtic music with North African. It’s absolutely beautiful hearing it come together. ❤

      Allow me to correct some of what you said with timeframes and such The Umayyad Caliphate's expansion into the Iberian Peninsula in 711 AD marked the beginning of Islamic rule in parts of Europe, notably in what is now Spain and Portugal. This period, often referred to as Al-Andalus, saw a flourishing of science, culture, and trade, with significant achievements in various fields such as mathematics, astronomy, medicine, and philosophy. The Islamic rule in parts of Europe indeed predates the later European colonial expansion into other parts of the world. The Reconquista and the Role of Portugal and Spain The Reconquista was a long process (from the 8th to the 15th century) by which Christian kingdoms in the north of the Iberian Peninsula sought to reclaim territory taken by Muslims. It ended in 1492 with the conquest of Granada, the last Muslim state on the peninsula, by the Catholic Monarchs, Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabella I of Castile. Portugal and Spain, having consolidated their territories after the Reconquista, became pioneers in European exploration and expansion into Africa, Asia, and the Americas. The Portuguese began to establish trade posts along the West African coast, eventually engaging in the Atlantic slave trade. This marked the beginning of a period of European global exploration and colonial expansion. Enslavement of Europeans by North African Pirates From the 16th to the 19th centuries, the Barbary Coast of North Africa was home to pirates and corsairs who raided ships in the Mediterranean and Atlantic, as well as coastal villages in Europe, to capture slaves. It's estimated that thousands of Europeans were captured and enslaved during this period. These raids indeed spread fear among European coastal communities, leading some areas to depopulate to avoid the threat of enslavement.

      Indeed. If we want to go beyond pure slavery into servitude, conquest, and suppression of indigenous cultures in general, I would also point to the Highland Clearances and banning of Highlander (Gaelic) culture following the Jacobite risings, including the Dress Act of 1746 intent on suppressing Highland culture: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_kilt#Proscription_and_revival_of_the_kilt In the Highliand Clearances from 1750 to 1860, the Highlander "primatives" were forcibly removed from their historical lands by landowners. This displacement process was "one of the clearest demonstration of the death of the old Gaelic society": en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highland_Clearances Many escaped this treatment by emigrating to North America, with the order of 60,000 alone going to Nova Scotia from 1773 (Ship Hector) through 1870: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highland_Clearances#Demographics That was so many displaced Gaels that the Canadian province, upon Confederation in 1867, was not named with respect to its historical basis of indigenous natives or English and French settlers, but as "New Scotland" (Nova Scotia in latin). They were not slaves, but they were essentially in servitude to landowners in Scotland, then forcibly moved and denied their culture, and even shipped overseas in exchange for freedom, provisions, and farms -- that they didn't receive (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hector_(ship)). Oddly, their descendent are now lumped in as European "colonizers" in North America. History is complex and race, geographic origins, and settler status do not give an accurate picture in simple victim/victimizer narratives. Race essentialism is simply the latest form of widespread bigotry.

    @xtramail4909 3 місяці тому

    British people also were not aware of the details of chattel slavery as it did not exist on their soil because slavery was banned in the 1100s (instead, Britain had an institution of serfdom - this law was later used to provide legal standing in the Somerset case which said slavery is not recognized by English law therefore the moment a slave lands on British soil he is set free). The moment the British found out the details is the moment the abolitionist movement began. Some chose to starve rather than spin cotton harvested from slave labour. Others joined the Free Produce Movement as well. Politicians worked tirelessly to find a legal standing to end slavery. When they did, Britain engaged in the Blockade of Africa (aka the West African Squadron). They then paid enslavers to give up their slaves, and these weren’t just enslavers who were within the Empire, it was also Muslim enslavers and others whom they paid. So Britain bought the freedom for thousands, and this equated to £20 million of their annual budget, but that’s about £300 million in todays time. Many people critique this because they only look at how the enslavers were paid, but it was either that or war as had happened in the states. Paying prevented war, paying prevented the death of thousands. With Britains efforts, the Atlantic slave trade was finished, the Trans-Saharan slave trade was finished, and the Ethiopian/Indian Ocean slave trade was finished. People should also look into the Seychelles who gathered with a British flag that had the words on it “the flag that sets us free.” Also, when slaves would escape the Caribbean and move to Britain, many British people worked alongside freed slaves to help them publish books to spread awareness. For example, Thomas Fowell Buxton, Joseph Sturge, Thomas Pringle.

    • @xtramail4909
      @xtramail4909 3 місяці тому

      I’ll also add that freed slaves played a large role in spreading awareness of the autrocities that were being committed. Like Olaudah Equiano, Mary Prince, and many others. Their efforts do not go unnoticed.

    what happened in USA? It seemed to me like black america started doing well in the 90s and 2000s, now everyone's so divided. What a shame, I think positive role models are scarce, I loved watching Family Matters, The Cosbies, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, that was what black culture in USA looked like to an outsider. But now it's all Cardi B and rappers who are mostly criminals. What a damn shame

      Those in power decided they didn't like how well people were starting to get along. It's a lot easier to control the masses when they are divided and at each others throats. Ensure that they hate each other as much if not more than they hate the ruling elites. It's the same practice the ancient Greeks used with their slaves, they used to deliberately mix them up based on race and pit them against each other. It's a lot harder to organise against those in charge if you're constantly busy fighting amongst yourselves. It's one of the primary reasons that Western Governments are allowing unrestricted immigration. Diversity on this level is only a strength for those in charge. Diversity=Division. A united people are far more likely to revolt against the ruling class if they abuse their power and pose a FAR greater threat when they do.

      It's been going down hill for them since the 60s. Not as far as laws, but culturally. Single parent homes and public assistance is encouraged and the mentality that something is owed to you for wrongs that happened before your time. It makes it easier to become a criminal when you already assume you are looked down upon and people owe you something. It's not their fault, even Ice Cube said gangster rap was invented/funded by the big wigs in the music industry, not grass roots lol.
